Hi, I’m Samantha Turner (Monson), a licensed professional counselor based in Greenville, South Carolina.
I bring over ten years of experience to my work as a counselor, beginning my career as a school counselor before transitioning into private practice. I hold a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s in Counseling from Clemson University, and my approach is grounded in trauma-informed and humanistic principles. Whether we meet in my office, outdoors for walk and talk counseling, or virtually through secure telehealth, my goal is to offer a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported.
I specialize in counseling for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity concerns, and faith or spiritual exploration. My work is client-centered and collaborative—rooted in the belief that counseling isn’t about fixing you, but about helping you reconnect with yourself and move forward with clarity and intention.
I’m trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), two evidence-based approaches that support healing from trauma and distress. As EMDR’s founder Francine Shapiro wrote, “The past affects the present even without our being aware of it.” That truth guides much of my work: helping clients understand what’s holding them back and create space for growth, healing, and reconnection.
Originally from Tennessee, I’ve called the Upstate home for the past ten years. Outside of counseling, I enjoy being outdoors, running, reading, traveling, and spending time with my husband, stepdaughter, and our rescue pup, Summit.
It’s a quiet honor to be invited into the deeply human work of healing. I’m continually moved by the strength it takes to share your story, and I feel privileged to sit with clients as they uncover what hurts, remember what matters, and move forward—more connected, more grounded, and more themselves.
